Break-ins and Bouquets is out now
Greetings,
Where did the summer go? This year, more than any other year, I had this nagging desire to get in the car and drive to the beach. I didn’t do it for two reasons. One, I was afraid if I packed up, that I would never come back. Two, when left to my own devices, I tend to get bored, which is something that both Alexis Parker and I need to avoid for everyone’s sake. But I’m still itching for a vacation. The last one I took was eleven or twelve years ago. To be fair, vacations were rare occurrences growing up, so I can count the number of vacations I’ve taken on both hands with fingers to spare. So if you went on an awesome vacation this year or have any suggestions on places to visit and fun things to do, shoot me a reply and let me know. I could definitely use some inspiration.
But since I didn’t physically escape my surroundings, I had to escape mentally, which is why Break-ins and Bouquets (Lexie Sarconi #2) is now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and paperback. While this can be read as a standalone, I strongly recommend starting with Burglary Blues (Lexie Sarconi #1) if you haven’t read that one yet. A lot of people missed it since it came out right after the holidays and Amazon never sent a notification alert, but those who did read it seemed to really enjoy it. You can find Burglary Blues here. Also, the audio version should be out in about two weeks.
Break-ins and Bouquets picks up where that book left off. I will say this one deviates from what you may be expecting. Here, you will get to see Lexie working patrol. This is the only time that will happen, and when you get to the end of the book, you’ll understand why. Michael Riley is back, and they have a few things to iron out in terms of their relationship, both on and off the job. Of course, expect plenty of bumps and action along the way. You can find Break-ins and Bouquets here.
Other than that, the Chirp audiobook deal is in full swing, so you can pick up some new and old audiobook titles really cheap right now. Maybe take them with you on a long car ride to the beach. (I highly recommend Fallen Angel and Calculated Risk.) Or feel free to listen to them at no additional cost with your Spotify premium membership or by checking out my YouTube channel. (I’m in desperate need of new subscribers, so please hit that subscribe button if you are so inclined and share with anyone you know who enjoys consuming content on YouTube).
Thanks so much, and have a safe and happy holiday weekend!
Happy Reading,
G.K. Parks
Balance Due (Alexis Parker #25) is out now…
Greetings,
I hope you are had a wonderful weekend and a Happy Easter, if you are so inclined. Holidays haven’t been in the cards lately, so I didn’t have much on the agenda, but I wanted to make some almond butter filled chocolate eggs or maybe chocolate hazelnut filled chocolate eggs or marshmallow chocolate eggs. Is that too much chocolate? Is such a thing even possible? Since Likely Suspects’ eleventh anniversary was last week, I made brownies, so I should stay away from the sweets this week, but it’s so hard with all those seasonal commercials for candy.
Anyway, enough of that. I can’t believe there are now twenty-five books in the main Alexis Parker series. I have to admit I’m more nervous about this book than any of the previous ones. You would think by now I wouldn’t worry so much, but this one feels different. It delves into Alexis Parker’s early life and while her behavior in the story is true to her character, Alex isn’t necessarily charging headfirst toward the problem since she spent most of her life avoiding it. But I really hope you enjoy getting a glimpse into her background and why she is the way she is. Plus, the gang’s all back, which made for some sweet and comedic moments. The opening chapter was one of my all-time favorites to write and has some great Alex and Heathcliff banter. If you’d like to check out Balance Due (Alexis Parker #25), you can find it on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and in paperback. Here are the relevant links:
That is all for now. I am actually going to take the day off, watch some movies, read a book, and try not to eat my weight in chocolate. Take care, and as always, happy reading.
Kindest regards,
G.K. Parks
A new Alexis Parker boxset is out now
Another month is in the books, so to speak, and I just released the sixth volume in the Alexis Parker series box set. This includes the sixteenth, seventeenth, and eighteenth books in the series. In case you don’t have the titles memorized in order, that’s The Long Game, Burning Embers, and Thick Fog. All six box sets are available on Kindle and Kindle Unlimited. So if you’re looking to add the books to your collection, the box sets will save you some money, and if you are looking to borrow or reread the series, the box sets give you three books but only take up one slot in your Kindle Unlimited subscription.
For the twenty-fifth book, I wanted to provide some deeper insight into Alexis Parker’s early life and what it was like growing up. Her adoptive father plays a big role in the story, but that isn’t all that’s going on. Alex and Detective Heathcliff accidentally stumble into an attempted armed robbery, and things take off after that. All the characters that you haven’t seen much of in the last three books are back to make an appearance. I can’t wait for you to read it, and I really hope you enjoy it. If you’d like to pre-order the Kindle edition, you can do so now. But if you’d prefer picking it up in print or on Kindle Unlimited, it releases on March 31, which strangely enough, also happens to be Easter. (I didn’t realize that when the date was set or I would have picked a different day).
If you made it all the way to the end of this, thank you for sticking with me. Take care, and as always, happy reading.
Kindest regards,
G.K. Parks
The holidays aren’t over yet…
The holidays aren’t over yet now that James Martin’s Holiday Shopping Guide is now available as an e-book on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and can be read on Kindle Vella.
Sorry if you found that subject line frightening. For some, it’s a relief the holidays are over. For others, the holidays could last an entire year. James Martin might fall into that second category. And since Hallmark channel is still showing their holiday line-up, I saw no reason not to release James Martin’s Holiday Shopping Guide for anyone who missed the opportunity to snag a copy at the end of November.
ICYMI, James Martin’s Holiday Shopping Guide is now on Kindle and Kindle Unlimited. It’s a humorous holiday novella, written from James Martin’s perspective.
Holiday shopping can be a tedious task, and being a CEO short on time doesn't make that any easier. But James Martin isn't willing to hand over the reins, particularly when it comes to making this holiday season as perfect as possible for his girlfriend, Alexis Parker. He just has to figure out how to do it.
With office parties and an ugly sweater party on the books, Martin has to find the ideal outfit and get gifts for his employees, his friends, and his staff. Luckily, he has Marcal to help. But pulling this off and creating a winter wonderland for Alexis won't be easy, especially when she tries to throw a wrench in the works.
This novella features all the characters you've grown to love from the Alexis Parker series with a flair that's entirely Martin. You can find it here:
I hope your 2024 is off to a great start. Mine’s been much calmer than the end of 2023, but it’s still been a little rocky. However, that hasn’t stopped me from reading or writing. So far, I’ve read three books this year and am halfway through my current work-in-progress. I’ve also decided a third book in the Cross Security series (Lucien’s series) will be coming out this fall. Since a new rival is introduced in Balance Due, Lucien will have plenty to keep him busy. I’ll have more details on this once there are words on the page.
Burglary Blues, the first book in my new Lexie Sarconi series, came out a month ago. I want to thank everyone who picked up a copy. For whatever the reason, notifications for that book did not go out to most readers, but it still has gotten over 50 ratings and most people have really enjoyed the romantic police thriller. If there’s enough interest, the second book release may be moved to April. I should have more details on that possibility in next month’s newsletter, but for now, if you’d like to give Burglary Blues a try, you can find it here:
That’s it for now. Take care and keep warm. Kindest wishes and happy reading,
G.K. Parks
Celebrate Halloween with Trouble Brewing
Enjoy these tricks and treats by reading the 24th book in the Alexis Parker series. Trouble Brewing is out now on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and paperback.
Happy Halloween! I’m excited to say that I have a treat for you. Trouble Brewing is out now. Alexis Parker is being pulled in a million different directions. DEA agent Jackson ‘Jace’ Decker and his team are back, and again, they need Alex’s help. In the meantime, Sgt. Will Russo is ready to tell Alex the truth about why he shot his own men. And Lucien Cross wants Alex’s help dealing with a difficult client. You can read about all the craziness on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, or in paperback. Check it out here.
Besides getting everything ready for this book release, painting several Halloween ceramics, and enjoying my new elliptical machine, I’ve been revising a five-book series. This has been on my to-do list since 2019. I’ve gone back and forth many times on whether to release it since it’s heavier on the romance and a bit steamier than what I usually write. But I think you’ll enjoy it. I’ll have more information on that soon but expect the first book to release at the end of December and the rest to follow soon after. Besides that, I have a brand new story I’m working on featuring a female thief. It’s been fun getting to explore new characters and dynamics. But I’ve barely scratched the surface on that since Alex and Liv had been demanding most of my attention.
That’s it for now. Have a Happy Halloween. Enjoy all your tricks and treats. Until next time, happy reading.
The latest Liv DeMarco thriller is out now
Malicious Intent is now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and in paperback
I've been reading so many wonderful books lately. This weekend, I'm planning on cracking open another one. If you're ready to start a new book too, I thought I'd let you know Malicious Intent (Liv DeMarco #8) is out now.
This one is a little different from the others, but I hope you’ll find it just as entertaining (maybe even more so). Homicide detectives Liv DeMarco and Brad Fennel have one of the best closure rates in the department, but this case has them stumped. To complicate matters, a call from Axel Kincaid has Liv second-guessing everything. Kincaid has information concerning the dead woman, but what he has to say doesn't make a lot of sense. Unsure what or who to believe, Liv and her partner Brad will have to reconstruct the scene and piece everything together bit by bit. And when half the suspects also have motive and opportunity, it might be impossible to determine exactly what happened and who is to blame.
Malicious Intent is now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and paperback. Grab your copy here:

Buried Alive is Out Now
Buried Alive is now on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and available in paperback.
I’m excited to announce that Buried Alive (Alexis Parker #23) is now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and in paperback. Alex really has her hands full this time. I had a lot of fun writing it and hope that you get just as much enjoyment out of reading it.
Supervising a new branch of Cross Security was never on Alex’s to-do list, but given her boyfriend’s current job commitments and her boss’s insistence to expand the business, she doesn’t have much of a choice. So her days are spent running background checks and interviewing potential hires. It’s not exactly the kind of thing this former federal agent enjoys doing, but it pays the bills.
However, when Iris Stapleton, a woman from her grief counseling group, approaches Alex with a potential problem, she’s more than willing to help. As a former first responder and survivor of a near-fatal attack, Iris knows what the warning signs are, and her husband’s recent behavior has been sending up all sorts of red flags. He’s been emotionally distant and cold toward her. He’s been prone to bouts of anger, and on top of that, he’s been sneaking out of their house at all hours of the day and night.
Iris assumes he’s having an affair and wants Alex to catch him in the act. But the more Alex digs, the less she believes he’s having an affair. As his unexplained absences become more and more frequent, a bloody bag of clothing turns up in the Stapletons’ garbage can. Who is this man and what exactly is he doing on the nights he sneaks out?
You can grab your copy here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BQFRZ3L7
What’s next? The Warhol Incident and Mimicry of Banshees will be coming to audio in June. Malicious Intent, the next novel in the Detective Liv DeMarco series will be out in July. Trouble Brewing (Alexis Parker #24) will hit shelves this October, and I’ll be releasing something special in December.
This has been one of those months, so I hope all is well wherever you are. Until next time, happy reading.
Kindest wishes,
G.K. Parks
Mistaken Identity is Out Now
Mistaken Identity (Liv DeMarco #7) is out now.
I’m happy to announce Mistaken Identity (Liv DeMarco #7) is now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and paperback.
Mistaken Identity takes place during Halloween. Liv and Brad are hot on the trail of a vampire killer. But there are no such things as vampires. They’re just not sure if the killer realizes that. This book is Halloween-themed, but at its heart, it’s still a crime thriller.
So why Halloween? Halloween was one of my favorite holidays as a kid, especially getting to go trick-or-treating with friends and then coming back to a house full of cupcakes and candy apples that my mom made. But I was never a fan of being scared. I believe screaming and hitting someone who sneaks up on you should be considered self-defense. However, my best friend in college loved all of that scary stuff. Each year, one of the student organizations hosted a haunted house on campus with the proceeds going to charity. The first year was Saw themed. They created a series of torture chambers inspired by the film. The next year, they made a giant maze out of rolls of poster paper, complete with strobe lights and freaky clowns. After that was a haunted hay bale maze in the parking lot, and the final year was inspired by the chainsaw massacre. Needless to say, some of those experiences made it into this book.
If you haven’t read any of the Liv DeMarco books, or you aren’t sure they are for you, you can download Operation Stakeout, which is a short story I wrote to accompany the first book in the series, but it can be read as a standalone to give you a taste of what to expect from this series. You can do so here.
Anyway, I guess that’s it for now. Until next time, happy reading.
The Latest Alexis Parker Novel is Now Available
It all begins with an idea.
The day I’ve anxiously been waiting for has finally arrived. Zero Sum (Alexis Parker #22) is now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and print. You can grab your copy here:

Amazon UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0B4QT7F1K

Amazon AU: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0B4QT7F1K
In case you're curious, here's a quick preview of what’s to come in the new year. You can expect at least two new Alexis Parker novels and another Liv DeMarco novel. Two of these are already up for pre-order, but ignore the listed release dates. They will be out in the spring and summer. I’m not sure what else is coming down the line, but I have a five-book series in rough form that I’m hoping to put out, time permitting. It’s slightly heavier on the romantic suspense side of the spectrum, which has made me hesitant to release it, but we’ll see how it goes.
Well, I guess that’s it for now. I hope you have a healthy, happy, and entirely stupendous rest of your year.
Best wishes and happy reading!
